It is a voluntary program designed to recognize and reward great teachers – and make them better. National Board Certified Teachers successfully demonstrate advanced teaching knowledge, skills and practices. Certification is achieved through a rigorous performance-based assessment that typically takes one to three years to complete. If, after reviewing this information, you decide that you would like to pursue this certification and we will put you in touch with a cohort group working towards it, and/or a mentor.
NYS Teacher Certification & Licensing – This section provides information on New York State certification, which is required for all teachers, administrators, teaching assistants, and pupil personnel professionals employed in the State's public schools. There are links to resources that will help you understand the certification process, obtain information about requirements and available pathways to certification, register for teacher tests, and maintain the validity of your certificate.
